To support our explosive growth, we are looking for strong bioinformatics/computational biology programmers and scientists to join our team of seasoned drug hunters.

Job Description

We are looking for a computational biologist scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate for this role has experience analyzing Next Generation Sequencing Data from various ‘omic types and running/maintaining bioinformatic workflows. This role will be responsible for the design and analysis of omics experiments, biological interpretations of the corresponding results, and discovery of novel drug targets and biomarkers (i.e., pharmacodynamics, mechanism of actions, and drug response). Moreover, the ideal candidate will excel at customer interaction and supporting drug development teams. This position will benefit from further training and mentoring from experienced industry researchers. This is an exceptional opportunity for a bright individual to learn about bioinformatics approaches applied to industrial research and to work on a broad variety of drug discovery projects with multiple modalities and therapeutic areas.

Background experience & complementary knowledge

  • PhD in Genetics, Immunology and or Cancer Biology with experience in Computational biology, Bioinformatics or related discipline
  • Previous experience with NGS platforms required
  • Fluency in Python and/or R, and linux/unix operating system is essential
  • 0-5 years of previous industry experience preferred
  • Good understanding of statistics and interpretations
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentations) required
  • Good productivity, strong work ethic and ability to finish tasks on time are essential

We are looking for scientists to help us support a growing number of biotechnology and pharma clients in the oncology and immunology space with a proven track record working in these fields. The ideal candidate for this role has experience analyzing Next Generation Sequencing Data from various ‘omic types, is able to quickly adapt to new research areas, and can clearly articulate scientific and bioinformatic concepts to non-bioinformaticians. This role will include bioinformatics support of drug discovery teams as well as the ability to design and analyze omics experiments with a keen awareness of interpretation in the context of current literature. The ideal candidate will understand the process of novel drug target identification and as well as the corresponding biomarkers (i.e. pharmacodynamics, mechanism of actions, and drug response). In addition to client support, this position will help train and mentor a team of bioinformaticians. This is an exceptional opportunity for seasoned scientists to get exposed a broad array of oncological diseases and therapeutic modalities.

Background experience & complementary knowledge

  • PhD in Genetics, Immunology and or Cancer Biology with experience in Computational biology, Bioinformatics or related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to provide biological insight from complex omics data and communicate findings with experimental scientists is a must
  • Proven experience with NGS platforms required
  • Capable in R, linux/unix and at least one programming language (e.g. Python) is essential
  • Strong background in statistics and interpretations
  • 3 to 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent
  • Managerial or leadership experience
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentations) required
  • Good productivity, strong work ethic and ability to finish tasks on time are essential
